This event featured an interactive discussion on export potential to the Australian market and the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to support business strategies and global market development. The session was conducted with great enthusiasm, providing valuable insights for entrepreneurs aiming to expand their product reach to the international stage. The Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) has held a National Working Meeting (Rakernas) on February 19-20, 2025 at the Manhattan Hotel Jakarta with the theme "Collaboration and Synergy of Stakeholders to Expand Export Markets and Control the Domestic Market for Indonesian Furniture and Craft Products". In his remarks, the General Chairperson of HIMKI, Mr. Abdul Sobur said that the furniture and craft industry has great potential as Indonesia's leading sector in the future. This potential is supported by the availability of abundant raw materials, competent human resources, and a growing market.

We held an inspiring Ngobrol Santai session in preparation for the upcoming exhibition. The event featured an interesting presentation from Mrs. Sekar Adita S.Sn, M.Sn, a lecturer at ISI Yogyakarta, who discussed creative product development. She provided in-depth insights on how to create innovative and highly competitive works in the market. Next, a warm discussion was guided by Mrs. Djudjuk Aryati as the owner of Cv Cocoon Asia, who shared practical guidance and strategies for facing the exhibition. With her experience and knowledge, participants were invited to prepare themselves more thoroughly to take full advantage of the exhibition opportunities. Last but not least, we also gained valuable insights from Asuransi Asei, who thoroughly discussed export credit insurance, as well as an interesting introduction from Asuransi Zurich. Both speakers highlighted the importance of risk mitigation in business management. Thank you to the speakers and participants who have made this event meaningful. Jepara, (1/10/2024), Opening of "Furniture Boot Camp Jepara 2024" which was held. This Bootcamp program is the third, where the first was special training in materials in 2022, the second was carving training in early 2024, and the third was training from raw material preparation to finishing. In this event, the number of participants reached 37 participants or exceeded the original target of 30 participants. Participants consisted of employee representatives from HIMKI member companies from various regions plus participants from HIMKI partner subsidiaries, namely Perhutani and Inhutani. The third "Furniture Boot Camp" training program was held by DPP HIMKI in collaboration with DPD HIMKI Jepara Raya which lasted for 4 days from October 1 to October 4, 2024, at The Palm Beach Resort Jepara, Central Java. Seeing the enthusiasm of HIMKI members, this program will continue, and the location of the event will move from one DPD to another HIMKI DPD.

IPR Education at Cakra Kembang Hotel Today, Tuesday, September 10, 2024. With the resource person being the owner of CV Woodeco Indonesia, Mr. Agung Setiawan Intellectual property rights (IPR) are defined as the right to obtain legal protection for intellectual property in accordance with laws and regulations in the field of IPR, such as the Copyright Law, Patents, Industrial Designs, Trade Secrets, Plant Varieties, Integrated Circuits and Trademarks. In essence, IPR is the right to economically enjoy the results of intellectual creativity. The objects regulated in IPR are works that arise or are born due to human intellectual ability.

Building Resilient Human Resources to Face Global Challenges: HIMKI Holds Training in Bali The Indonesian Furniture and Craft Industry Association (HIMKI) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the quality of human resources through the “Capacity Building” training held in Denpasar, Bali, on August 19-20, 2024. With the theme “Human Resources Transformation in Facing Global Competition,” this event is an important moment for HIMKI organizational managers to evaluate and improve their capabilities in facing the challenges of a changing world. In an industry that continues to grow and become increasingly complex, the quality of human resources is a determining factor that cannot be ignored. HIMKI, as a large organization engaged in the furniture and craft industry, realizes that having human resources with high competence, creativity, and good adaptability is the main capital to face international competition. This Capacity Building training is expected to be a stepping stone for HIMKI in creating competent, innovative human resources that are ready to compete on the global stage.

The re-election of Mr. Ruslamaji Dwi Putranto at the 3rd Regional Conference of the DPD HIMKI D. I. Yogyakarta which took place on June 29, 2024 at the Sahid Raya Hotel & Convention Yogyakarta. On Thursday, February 22, 2024, DPD HIMKI D.I. Yogyakarta in collaboration with the Industry and Trade Office of the Province of D.I. Yogyakarta has implemented the IFEX 2024 Mentoring which was held at the Office of the Industry and Trade Office of the Province of D.I. Yogyakarta. The activity was attended by 17 SMEs. Filled by Mr. Bambang Wijaya, S.E as Deputy Chairperson for SMEs & Entrepreneurship of DPP HIMKI, who provided tips on preparation and planning before and during the exhibition, as well as sharing his experiences during the exhibition. Also filled by Mr. Nor Jayadi, S.Sn., M.A., as Deputy Chairperson for Furniture Design Development of DPP HIMKI, who provided information on current design trends. After the presentation of the material, it was continued with a question and answer session with the SMEs. It is hoped that this activity will increase knowledge and participants can be more prepared to participate in the IFEX 2024 exhibition.

HIMKI National Work Meeting at Hotel Santika Premiere, Yogyakarta On February 22 - 23, 2023, at Hotel Santika Premiere, Yogyakarta, HIMKI will hold the National Work Meeting (Rakernas). The HIMKI Rakernas serves as a forum for reflection and evaluation of the implementation of policies and organizational work programs. The theme of the Rakernas is **"Mastery of Design and Production Technology as an Acceleration to Achieve the Target of USD 5 Billion in Furniture and Handicraft Exports by the End of 2024."** This event will be attended by 100 participants, including the HIMKI Central Board (DPP), Regional Board (DPD), government institutions, private sector representatives, and HIMKI partners. The Rakernas aims to facilitate coordination and the formulation of the annual work program.

Syawalan event of DPD HIMKI DI. Yogyakarta in 2023, was held successfully on Saturday, May 13, 2023 at The 1O1 Tugu Yogyakarta. Attended by more than 60 participants, and by inviting DISPERINDAG DIY, DISKOP UKM DIY, DISPERINDAG Sleman Regency, and DKUKMPP Bantul Regency. The theme carried is "In Diversity for Joint Progress", it is expected that the members of DPD HIMKI DI. Yogyakarta forgive each other and strengthen the relationship and collaborate with each other to achieve common goals.

On June 16-17, 2023, the 2023 HIMKI National Leadership Meeting (RAPIMNAS) was held at Grand Mercure Solo Baru, attended by the Central Leadership Council, Board of Trustees, Board of Experts, as well as the Chairmen of the Regional Leadership Councils and Executive Bodies both Central and Regional throughout Indonesia. RAPIMNAS with the theme: "Strengthening Organizational Solidity to Support Accelerated Growth of the National Furniture and Craft Industry" is considered to have enormous potential where 60% of SMEs in the Central Java region. The purpose of RAPIMNAS is to carry out the mandate of the Bylaws of the Indonesian Furniture and Handicraft Industry Association (ART HIMKI) and evaluate the HIMKI Work Program as a result of the recommendations of the previous RAKERNAS and RAPIMNAS which will be adjusted to the priority needs and actual conditions that develop.

Musyawarah Nasional (MUNAS) ke-3 Himpunan Industri Mebel dan Kerajinan Indonesia (HIMKI) telah diselenggarakan pada Selasa-Kamis, 29-31 Agustus 2023 bertempat di Hotel Holiday Inn, Jl Griya Utama, Blok B No. 1, Sunter, Jakarta. Dengan mengusung tema "Perkuat Soliditas dan Integritas Organisasi untuk Mendukung Akselerasi Pertumbuhan Industri Mebel dan Kerajinan Nasional".

Peresmian Kantor dan Showroom Bersama DPD HIMKI D.I. Yogyakarta telah dilaksanakan pada Sabtu, 28 Oktober 2023 lalu dan dapat berjalan dengan lancar. Kantor dan Showroom Bersama ini menjadi bagian dari program HIMKI DIY untuk pengembangan market dan sales para anggota yang diharapkan dapat menjadi wadah untuk menampilkan produk-produk dari para anggota, sehingga seluruh anggota HIMKI DIY memiliki hak untuk melakukan pendisplayan produk di showroom ini dengan sistem rolling, maupun pendisplayan brosur perusahaan. Sejalan dengan tujuan utama showroom adalah untuk memamerkan produk, Showroom Bersama HIMKI DIY diadakan sebagai tempat informasi mengenai produk-produk yang dimiliki oleh para anggota, sehingga diharapkan mampu menjaring calon konsumen, baik lokal maupun ekspor. Kantor dan showroom Bersama ini tentunya menjadi identitas organisasi, sebagai tempat berkumpul, berkoordinasi, berdiskusi, dan bertukar pikiran antar anggotanya. Untuk kedepannya kami berharap dengan adanya kantor dan showroom Bersama ini, dapat menjadikan wadah bagi seluruh anggota HIMKI DIY untuk dapat berkolaborasi dan memperoleh manfaat dibidang promosi dan penjualan, serta semakin memudahkan koordinasi para pengurus dan tentunya hal terpenting adalah kantor ini bisa menjadi identitas organisasi. DIY, Jumat 3 Nopember 2023, HIMKI beraudiensi dengan Kepala Badan Pengembangan Sumber Daya Manusia Industri - Kementerian Perindustrian RI Bapak Masrokhan. Pada kesempatan audiensi ada beberapa agenda pembahasan penting diantaranya adalah HIMKI mengusulkan perubahan Susunan Komite atau Dewan Penyantun POLIFURNIKA untuk periode 2023-2028, dan usulan ini disambut baik oleh Bapak Masrokhan dan akan ditindaklanjuti dan disampaikan langsung ke Menperin. Pada kesempatan ini Masrokhan menyampaikan juga apresiasi dan kekagumannya terhadap HIMKI. Dia menyatakan bahwa HIMKI adalah asosiasi yg rapih dan sangat terkelola dengan baik. Oleh karnanya dia mengharapkan agar bisa terus berkolaborasi dengan HIMKI khususnya dalam memajukan SDM industri furniture. Dan baginya ini merupakan pertemuan pertama dan akan ada pertemuan-pertemuan lanjutan untuk membahas hal-hal yg lebih teknis lagi. (SB)
